Alycia & Slade’s intimate wedding day was what dreams are made of!
One thing that stood out from this beautiful day was just how thoughtful and intentionally planned every element was, and everything they did was truly in celebration of their life together and showing such deep gratitude of their nearest and dearest being able to witness the magic of making it official.
Alycia & Slade got ready in the morning separately, with the help of their parents. Spending the morning with these two was so much fun, they were super down to earth and their photographer Katie & I had a great time capturing some special moments for them before the Ceremony.
The Ceremony was on the Sugar Wharf in Port Doulgas, it’s not often Ceremonies are here out on the deck as it does get quite hot on a sunny day, however it was super beautiful thanks to the Port Douglas Weddings & Hire team doing an amazing job as always! Some special things that Alycia & Slade did during their Ceremony was to have each guest “bless the rings” so they were passed around the guests during the Ceremony, 3 of their grandparents all got up to say a reading which was super sweet, and they had a mutual friend who they met through be the one to pronounce them husband and wife!
Once the heartfelt Ceremony was finished, thanks to celebrant Anna Soltwedel & her beautiful storytelling, our couple were showered with love and hugs before we left the guests to enjoy cocktail hour and take A & S off on a little adventure to get some photo & video. We were so spoilt with this day, with a couple who made being in front of the camera look so effortless, paired with a beautiful golden lit afternoon - soo lucky!
Once we arrived back to the Sugar Wharf for the couples’ Reception & intimate dinner out on the deck, guests sat down to individual personalised & hand written thank you notes. It was a beautiful way to end an awesome afternoon, seeing their loved ones get all teary over the letters. I adored how much thought went into this wedding day!
This wedding was extra special because right before we shot this day, their photographer Katie & I officially launched our new combined photo & video business called Collide Photo & Film!
